Reflection of Lesson 1!

Perhaps what stood out most to me about the access to education is how big of a deal it really is and clearly I understood that we all need education. But I never really thought about how 100 million kids across the planet are not participated in primary school which is the most important part of education because it is the backbone of every thing we will learn in life. So to learn that so many young souls on this planet are not getting the necessary education to be successful in life bothers me more now after learning more about it. The statistics are very upsetting to learn from the video about global education. The fact that children are more likely to attain HIV if they don’t attend school but it makes sense too. If you are more educated you are more aware and understand the world more.

HELP!!

Now how do we help these poor children and prevent them from not being able to be successful in life? Well first off instead of spending eleven billion dollars on the ice cream industry maybe just maybe we could donate more money to put all those kids in poverty in school and better yet that is only 10 billion compared to the 11 billion spent on ice cream. There are also many organizations across the globe like Free the Children Schools, and Brick by Brick. They span over all the problems of low education like gender inequality and building new schools in rural areas that enable children to learn.
